Estos son todos los ganadores y nominados del rock y metal en los Premios MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) de 2023
Normalmente, los grandes premios de la última década y más allá han evitado en gran medida la música rock y metal de casi cualquier tipo. Lo podemos ver cada año en los Grammy como ejemplo claro. De todas formas ya sea como entidad propia o colándose en categorías «alternativas», el rock ha logrado mantener una posición relativamente importante en el evento anual que otorga el codiciado trofeo Moonman a los ganadores de los Premios MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
Aunque muchas categorías están dominadas por los artistas más grandes de la música mainstream, este año también se han nominado artistas de rock como Metallica, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Paramore, Blink-182 y otros (aunque estas nominaciones se centran principalmente en las categorías de rock y alternativa).
En la categoría de Mejor Alternativa, los nominados incluyen «EDGING» de Blink-182, «The Film» de boygenius, «Hold Me Like a Grudge» de Fall Out Boy, «Candy Necklace» de Lana Del Rey con Jon Batiste, «This Is Why» de Paramore y «Stuck» de Thirty Seconds to Mars.
Además, Fall Out Boy ha sido nominado en la categoría de Mejores Efectos Visuales por «Love From the Other Side», boygenius está en la carrera por el premio a la Mejor Dirección de Arte por «The Film», y Panic! at the Disco también ha conseguido una nominación a la Mejor Coreografía por su video «Middle of a Breakup».
En la categoría de Mejor Rock, encontrarás temas como «The Teacher» de Foo Fighters, «Lost» de Linkin Park, «Tippa My Tongue» de Red Hot Chili Peppers, «The Loneliest» de Maneskin, «Lux Aeterna» de Metallica y «You Make Me Feel Like It’s Halloween» de Muse.
En cuanto a las actuaciones, podemos esperar una buena dosis de rock. Fall Out Boy se presentará en los VMAs por primera vez desde 2007. Los rockeros italianos Maneskin también están programados para actuar, y la banda emergente de rock The Warning hará vibrar el escenario Doritos Extended Play.
